Great fun

Funky Stuff, Weisi!

The voices and 60s style text were excellent and the whole game was fairly easy, but a nice, fun romp.

Great stuff!

Simple and enjoyable for about 20s.

I got 96% on my 3rd try, then after that, in about 5 attempts, never again got over 90%.

It seems fun, if a little down to luck.

I suppose if you made a sequel you could make the targets slowly get smaller and the missile slowly speed up, with 3 lives or something. Then your percentages would be added for a total score.

Moon was rather nice bts, as were the other graphics.

Really impressed with your submissions - you obviously have real talent. Why did you stop submitting?

Interesting, but limited.

It's an interesting game, and the simplistic visuals do lend it a certain charm.

I never knew2 you could make visuals using action-script - I'll have to try that.

As it is, the s/x buttons are pretty useless. Also, it would have been nicer if we'd been able to use the arrow keys, as we do in the menu.

If this game had a high-score table, I'm sure a lot of folk would enjoy playing it for a fair while. That'd definitely make it a better game imo.

Good stuff!

Slightly more amusing.

The fact that this takes the mickey out of a real - largely hated - character (rather than being based around a charmless ant) gives this a bit more enjoyment value.

However, it struggled to make me smile, and Icertainly won't be returning.

A relative to a dress-up.

It was vaguely interesting to see the options on offer, but this was as limited as any dress-up and the fact that the ant danced to his own beat and not in time to any of the tunes made it seem pointless. That's the one thing I would have expected from this.

Far too limited.

Also, the ant himself was a characterless soul, and the uniform colour only served to underline the fact that it looked like some utilitarian test-product of some 3d modelling package.

If the dancing was in time to the music, it might have been vaguely amusing.

If I was allowed to choose a series of 'steps' to be carried out on the beats, it could have been rather entertaining.

But no.

Bugged (it seems)

Vaguely interesting concept, which fails to deliver.

Possible bug - why does the screen advance down the screen, then return up 80% of the time when I burst bubbles?

I couldn't see any pattern with when the screen would return and when it wouldn't - whether regarding number of bubbles burst or whether the bubbles were the originals.

This proved incredible annoying and made failure often seem like the fault of the computer.

The random selection of bubble also annoyed but to a lesser extent.

Nice game, could be better.

It's a nice enough version of Pang, but with a couple of flaws.

Firstly, the lack of a pause button combined with the fact that each level starts automatically is almost unforgivable.

What it someone contacts me on messenger? What if I need to go to the toilet?

Also, I feel that new elements are introduced rather too slowly.

The descending cieling was a nice touch, and it was nice to be introduced to bigger balls, then multiple balls, then have to pop them accurately in the level with the low cieling.

After that however, a few levels went by without the levels changing significantly.

The way the lives works worsens this as it can be frustrating to replay levels a few times in order to try to get to the next one. Even more so when the next level turns out to offer less than was expected.

Maybe it would have been nice to offer some sort of 'tour' mode in which high scores cannot be submitted, but infinite lives are given.

Or maybe have a checkpoint every 5 levels, from which you are able to continue if you so wish?

Or maybe offer continues which reset the score to 0?

This was an enjoyable game to play despite its faults but I won't be making a point of returning.

If the level design had shown a bit more imagination, and perhaps some of the other things I mentioned addressed, I would have.

OK, but not great.

Well, it did explain the basics, but I was kinda hoping for more details, like what program you use for capturing the frames, maybe some links to get the stuff...

Most of what was told should be self-evident to most folk.

On a lighter note, I liked your little animations and the way you showed the process in Flash.

The animation at the end wasn't fantastic, but at least it showed something reasonably achievable.

GAMECUBICLE responds:

well... i use Quickcam. But you might use Anasazi. Its a free program. You can find a link to the download on my site.

Enjoyable little diversion.

It's an enjoyable enough game, but random numbers play too large a role. The thief taking all your money is a total bastard - maybe it should just be a %?

Same with the car - it's a big disadvantage if you don't get the opportunity to buy one.

Also, the flaw with negative numbers means that we can just get straight to being a crack dealer.

I can't remember dopewars that well, but from what I remember, this seems as good and the music adds a certain something.

For the sequel, it'd be nice to go to a car dealership, be able to restore health somehow, and maybe buy weapons to use against thiefs and the police.

Get off your lazy ass - people are depending on you!

Some frustration, some enjoyment.

I got really frustrated and ended up right-clicking to progress through the screens as I didn't know the a button worked in this version.

When I'd worked that out, I started again and found it to be a fairly enjoyable game.

The room with black holes is kinda pointless (as I said in my previous review, I'd like to see these kind of rooms removed in #5) and the bomb was slightly frustrating to use due to the 1-square range (but you sorted that in #4).

The shop was an interesting idea, and it's a shame it was removed from #4.

I liked thebomb puzzle and the shooting puzzle, but the others were just a case of errand-running.

The series has definitely gotten better and better as its gone on with #4 by far the best so far.

As I said in the review for #4, I'd really like to see more 'proper' puzzles, less clues and 'orders' (maybe a hint button for those who are really stuck) and more tests of skill.

Also, I'd like to see the trend continue of actual skills and abilities opening up new areas rather than just keys.

In any case, I'm really looking forward to the next installment.
