A decent trailer

The music is lovely and you seem to have gained recognition for your style of hair.

There's not generally an awful lot of substance to trailers, simply because of their nature. Because of their nature, they're not really made to be enjoyed in their own right and as such I frequently find myself questioning their point on the portal at all.

However. your font was nice, the action seemed fairly well timed to the music and there were a few nice scenes.

The final movie will be a rather enjoyable watch from the look of things.

then why a 4 ;-;??? lol, XD well thanks, i prefer a long review than a 10 and no review, so..thanks =D

Could be made more obvious mebbe?

It could be made more obvious mebbe, with a pan down from the shit, or a quick zoom-out or something to show how it relates. When I first saw it, I didn't understand it myself.

Animation excellent. Flies looked rather cute and the one eating the... berry? had some nice expressions, with the shrug of the shoulders.

Also, sfx are excellent.

I think you should have the thing end with a continue button.

An amusing wee thing.

Overall - nice work and a pleasurable way to spend those few minutes. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about, innit?

Your sentiment in your comments is very true. As long as you try to make the best you can, you'll find an audience who loves your work.

Anyway, on to my thoughts.

!st cut - obvious joke but mildly amusing. Made me smile.

2nd - not-so-obvious. Made me smile. Took a 2nd watch to see Mario properly. That's a bit... odd...

and makes me kinda laugh when I think about it in depth.

3rd - failed to make me smile.

Soldiers landing on each other was rather amusing, and the end beating was rather nicely done.

I enjoyed it.

Pressed to criticise, I'd say the pace could have been a bit faster - he had that gun in front of his face for way too long for example and the 2nd clapper board took slightly too long I felt.

A bit crass and not amazingly funny.

Presentation is all nice, with voices fitting of the characters and a mildly amusing 'holy bejesus'.

The game details and links are good extras.

The main joke itself is crass and not all that funny. What kind of penis is that anyway? And when I think about it, that soldier pulling it down seems... really wrong.

The fucked up ending really is rather fucked up, and I had to chuckle in disbelief.

Not my favourite set of jokes, but it had no faff and made me chuckle. A bit.

I didn't like it. Others do.

Even after 2 views, I still don't understand most of it. Mario's transformation, the dude with the bowser mask Mario originally shoots at underground, the way the way Mario somehow manages to pull through the world turning real whilst Boswer doesn't...

I'm lead to assume the reviewer spoke the truth, but still... that doesn't explain everything and it's still a bit too confusing for me...

Maybe stuff could be explained a bit better somehow?
:-/

I found the alternate scenes mildly amusingand the graphics for the most part were excellent. Here's a few nitpicks though:

Bowser's arm looks dodgy at the start as Mario bursts through the door.

So do the arms of the turtles.

Some of the guns look really incongruous, looking as if they were drawn using the line tool and fills and not really fitting in with the sprites that wel I think.

As Mario jumped down the pipe, your skewing of the sprite to simulate it being at an angle just made it look horrible.

Overall: a nice production with a lot of effort put into it. I'd like to like this but... ah, you've got enough fans anyway. You've got your fame.

I didn't enjoy it, but others did. Different strokes and all that jazz.

Rather nice drawings...

To me, the music, which stops and starts again so suddenly, sounded faulty at first.

I personally don't much like the character design of the humanoid raccoon-type character. Sorry, but it just seems a bit too perfectly human to be anything other than a nice drawing. It just seems incongruous with either a 'cartoony' world or a fairly 'realistic' one.

The speech seems out of timing, with the speech playing at a different rate to the mouth movement. Have speech 'stream' in future.

Most damningly, I didn't find the plot particularly funny or even amusing.

For all I've said, the graphics were rather nice, animation was smooth, the humanoid raccoon was technically drawn rather well and the sfx wer rather nice.

A good laugh!

Again, a nice pre-loader, with a quality laugh with the NG logo presented as a short skit.

This thing's far more gag-based than the previous one, with the whole animation almost like a cross between a stand up/sketch show.

The ending, with the 'boo's remained amusing and Ron Jeremy's reference had me giggling.

Eclectic stuff with a fairly fast speed of 'action' and joke rate.

I have no real criticisms. The reason why I'm not giving it an even higher score is simply because I could have laughed even more at it, laughed a bit more heartily...

The photos don't mix perfectly, it was rather bad quality in the sub, and some shading might be nice on the fish.

Also, the perspective doesn't look totally right as those other fish are jumping out of the tank.

But none of those things would make it more amusing.

Not that it isn't already.

You know what I mean.

shampawnya responds:

Well... I don't know what to say except thanks. I do my bet as always... and It's good to get positive feedback.

A nice chuckle.

It really goes out of its way to be just a little different... and succeeds.

From the nice pre-loader to the increasingly random factoids accessible throughout the movie, the movie is short, sweeet, and to the point.

I actually thought this would be a typical cutesy underwater adventure had by some fishy folk.

I was pleased to watch some irreverant jokes and whilst nothing here made me actually laugh, it was a nice change of pace and angle from what we usually see here.

shampawnya responds:

Thanks man.

High-speed action, jokes and pretty colours.

Some awesome work here. I loved some of the short jokes, such as the representation of the portal as an egg/sperm.

There's a really nice mixture of styles here, yet it does gel togethere brilliantly.

From the start: (typed quickly whilst watching a 2nd time and occasionally pausing)

I was initially disappointed to see Sqeezy churning out a dancing line but as the lyrics started, the stitched up doll-type dude was a treat for the eyes.

The perspective looks very wrong on the keyboard.

I really like the fuzzy TV effect.

Everyone's bits are really well timed. and the flashes of lightning do nicely to accentuate this.

Nanoko's thick lines really stand out and add to the piece.

Rilstix' wackiness is great, with the dancing stick-bodied dudes and such.

Sqeezy continues the wackiness. Link made me laugh, as did the random brick guy.

The chicken is horrific.

It's brilliant the way the stick-type guy sheds some stuff and then bursts out in Nanoko's part.

Girl laughing at boy on fire? Twisted.

It definitely speeds up more and more as it goes on and though the '3,2,1' bit seems a bit sparse, it's all packed with loads of action pretty colours, awesomeness and more stuff than can be taken in in one watching.

The credits seemed funny, but you should have the text actually reach the top of the screen before switching to 'The End'.

Worthy of a more thoughtful review than I gave it, but at least I tried... ;-/

Seriously, some great stuff here and an incredible collaboration.

Did you pass it around or split up the song into parts and have your bits in different scenes?

It seems everyone added to the project in different ways and the combined whole is far better for it.

Personally, I don't count stuff like the Time Trials and 'Shades of...' as 'real' collaborations. Only stuff like this, where the other members are actually NEEDED and form part of a real whole, rather than just a collection of shorter movies and stuff.

Anyway... great movie. I really, really enjoyed it.

Twinkly music!

I loved the music! So 'twinkly' and otherworldly with a beat that was perfectly matched

I wasn't really sure what was going on until the end. The start (aiming at earth) passed by as I sort of yawned and shut my eyes for a second and I thought maybe the alien was an innocent one until the very end.

I didn't see the ending coming and the style of the characters was pretty sweet.

One thing I'd point out is that the pig's walk didn't match up at all with the speed at which he was tweened moving across the screen.

Also, when he travels to the other planet, it's not clear which direction the shot's being fired to/from.

But the whole thing was a charming little tale, with groovy music and a nice style going.

I look forward to the second.

But the whole thing was ec
