Underrated by far.

The piano in the background helps keep it all moving. I liked the combo of that and the meandering guitar.

I noticed the rhythm of the piano faltering slightly around 0:46 and then speeding up towards the end. I'd personally have preferred it had it kept a steady tempo, perhaps with the addition of a few grace notes here and there.

I liked the long sounds that are in the background throughout, but kind becomes audible at 0:22 and 0:30. What is that?

It's a really soft and gentle piece. I'd love to see this continued. Maybe with tighter production, cutting down on the mic sounds you finish off with, maybe keeping the tempo more regular...

Also, you should maybe try and make it loop. For something this short and lovely, it seems a real shame to not.

Also, the way the guitar starts off kinda repetitive, then gets really diverse and surprising... just personal opinion, but I'd prefer it if it was like the latter part all the way through.

Enjoyable to listen to just now, but a little tighter production, maybe a reworking, could turn this into something even greater.

Underrated by far.

Thanks for your vote, Bezman! You voted 5 for sundayosunday, raising its score from 2.50 to 3.33.

5 minutes, I found myself starting to get tired

Loops rather nicely.

I did like the beats you had going, but a break from them here or there may have been nice.

The low bass-guitarry melody was kinda cool.

The melody starting at 0:30 gets me grooving and I liked the soft cymbal crash you ended that bit with.

I do like the instruments you have going on.

It really feels more like a beginning than a finished piece to me though, my main issue being one of diversity.

If it's gonna be for a background tune, keep the number of instruments going on, the general pitch and the volume fairly constant, maybe. But there's so much you can change within that, that you just didn't.

Maybe change up the beats a bit? Maybe go without for a bit of the middle? Maybe throw in some more lead-guitarry sounds?

It's not bad to listen to, but after 5 minutes, I found myself starting to get tired; a feeling that the tune had no more layers for me to hear; nothing else to glean from it. It got a bit boring.

Retro. Space/cave. Good for a menu mebbe.

It kinda reminds me of something from Final Fantasy Legend (Sa.Ga) on the GB. The same repetitive tone and though the instruments here are somewhat better, it's got that same tinny, retro, electronic feel.

I don't actually find this reminding me of sailing ships at all - either a space scene (as the guy below said), or maybe underwater or in a really big cave.

I do really like the way you've got the deep instrument coming in before the high-pitched one. Even though it comes before, it kinda gives it a feeling of an echo or something and a nice resonance. Also, I like the way the high-pitched instrument kinda 'twinkles' before it goes out.

It's all got a nice feel and I found it surprisingly listenable.

It could be cool for a menu screen or something. Maybe I'll use it for the 1D platformer I'm making.

There's a lack of diversity, meaning I wouldn't put it in the actual game, but there's a nice sound here.

My one gripe (apart from the lack of diversity, which kinda makes up the style) is the poor join between the start/end.

I'm astounded.

For something that on first impression is just noise, this is surprisingly listenable!

Listened to it for nearly 10 minutes.

There's a wee bit more to this than just pure 'white noise' which was quite surprising to find. A few layers and a few bits of variation.

The noises at 0:28 are quite fun and I like the voices you've spliced in and the heavier beats that come in near the end.

I'm not gonna say it's a brilliant piece of 'music' in the traditional sense, but yet I'm astounded.

Over 10 minutes listening to this and yet rather than wanting to turn it off, I find myself smiling, chuckling and slightly headbanging.

I've heard pure noise on the AP before, but never noise that's recieved a modicum of skill and attention in its creation, as this has.

pretty much perfect for what it is

Eh, it seems to be 55s...

Anyway, The lead guitar riff is cool and I really liked the small switches as you turned on the effects pedals, added the beats or turned the whole thing around and made it a funked up electronic piece.

The whole thing is brilliantly produced. Are those guitars fed straight into some sorta recording contraption?

Anyways, great stuff. I enjoyed it for nearly half an hour!

Great amount of diversity.

The loop could be marginally better.

Also, after the 'Booya', the beat seemed to skip marginally.

Apart from that, it's pretty much perfect for what it is.

It'd be cool for a rhythm-based mouse-avoider game with abstract shapes and textures. Or maybe some sort of game involving racing on cybernetic giraffes (or maybe llamas)?

Stay funky!

flawless produced, wonderfully joyful piece

Like the other tune I reviewed (Ace vs King), this doesn't seem to have been made with looping specifically in mind but at the same time, there aren't any silly pauses that irritate too much when listening in this manner. It does seem to skip a fraction of a beat when repeating, but still - not too bad.

I was kinda wondering though if any of your tunes had actually been made to loop perfectly?

Anyway, I know practically about music creation at your level. I assume the instruments are all samples rather than genuine?

The piano is 'played' wonderfully - it's got a nice sense of keeping us surprised, whilst you don't just get silly and play really quickly or whatever - it's got a good sense of precision.

I specially like the little bit at 0:17.

I notice there isn't much going on in the left hand on the piano. There seems to be something there, but it's kinda played at a much lower volume - greater difference than I reckon would be possible. Or is it another instrument? Hard to tell?

Outside, the rain poured, but in here was a night to savour - a night of boogying with the oldest friends.

Feet, legs and hips moved in unison.

Mrs Donoval called out to her son, "Don't touch the giraffe!"

The beasts of the jungle had risen and their talents were as great as any man.

Yet another flawless produced, wonderfully joyful piece.

Bosa responds:

I'm right handed, heh. I don't use samples unless I don't have the instruments. Anyways, I didn't really understan what you meant by "Music creation at my level" but, I'm starting to kick in it. I don't look at music as skills or level of possibility. I like to look at it as an endless stretch for creativity and really just imagination. Let it soar, and it will soar smoothly.

Gloriously upbeat!

I love the whistling lead-melody. It is generally a fairly repetitive piece, but it's just so damn groovy, with happy vibes!

It reminds me of some Fatboy Slim songs.

I can only hear 4 layers - whistling, beats, the fast bg guitarry sound and the 'whoooooooo' near the start and also just before the whistling resumes. Apart from the change-up half-way through and the first 25s, where the instruments are introduced, there is a lack of variation. All the layers seem to be fairly constant. I would have maybe liked to see a couple more layers and some changes in the background melody or the beats mebbe.

But again - it's a short piece and it's so damn groovy!

My other slight gripe is that it doesn't loop quite as well as it could. I reckon there's maybe a fraction of a second you could cut at the start - it kinda skips part of a beat when it loops, which is mildly irritating.

Regardless, I listened for over half an hour and found myself still grooving along.

Flawlessly produced apart from the marginal looping issue.

I'd love to use this somehow. Maybe in a short animation, or maybe a game involving speed and light colours.

Question: why is it called 'Ace vs. King'? Is it based on some beat 'em up tune?

Bosa responds:

Well, I was thinking of a card game I used to play and how competitive it was. It deserved a beat. Of course, when I released this tune back in 2005, I was looking at a fast paced heart with a mind to run over. Now, I've learned that all things cannot be fast paced.. N.U.M.N.U.T.S.

shame (again) that it's not brilliantly produced.

Even glitchier a join than the other - the way it breaks the beat is really annoying.

Also, there's a sorta static surrounding the whole thing, specially on the bells, or whatever that high-pitched instrument is.

I love the upbeat, uptempo vibe though. It reminds me of calypsos and hula dancing.

Also, limbo and Thai islands.

There's a fair bit going on here too.

It's just a shame (again) that it's not brilliantly produced.

ClockMuffin responds:

Meh, I see where you got that. It is kind of annoying that the reproduction is bad. Shouldn't have rushed my work :/

Maybe if they were better produced

Gotta say, I kinda like the beats, though it does start to get mildly irritating within a minute.

The join of the loop itself is kinda glitchy.

Also, the whole thing has a bit of static about it, kinda like you recorded yourself playing the piano. Is that what you did?

Anyway, cool beats, though I can't think of a use for them in their current state.

Maybe if they were better produced, they'd be good for a menu screen.

I'm enjoying your entries.

I say, good sir, I believe that the reason you cannot believe this to not be music is because, believe it or not, it IS music!

Only just.

I chuckled specially hard at 0:57.

I'm enjoying your entries.
