fun to watch, though a bit short

The characters may be just blobs, but at least they've got a fair sense of squash and stretch.

The arenas are a bit sloppy, but that's not too terrible. Just something to work on to further improve it.

What I reckon would really help take it to another level and not be too hard is if the commentary was vocalised. If you've got a good voice, shout it all into a mic. Or get someone from the VoiceActingClub to do it, like a proper presenter. That'd be cool.

What made this though, is the idea. It's been done before, but I suppose it's something with serious lasting appeal.

Anyway, it was fun to watch, though a bit short.

Hoping this series goes uphill.

The animation for when we get to the 'play' button is cool.

Obviously, barely any of the graphics were drawn by you. I didn't mind that fact too much, apart from the fact that it got a tad irritating seeing the Link beside the textboxes with his unchanging expressions, even when he should be scared or whatever. (Is that 'Twilight Princess' Link?)

Anyway, I liked the whole premise and - for me - most of what I was looking forward to was seeing where you took this. So I'm kinda interested in seeing #2.

The ridiculousness of the fight made me chuckle.

The stuff you did draw (specially the arrows) were kinda sloppy.

Us having to click to continue gave it all a stop-start feel. Go to the voice acting forum and ask for folk to voice-act for this. Have text if you feel you really must.

It was entertaining to watch, but it could really be worked upon a lot. Think more about your sense of comedic timing, bring more creativity to the fore, maybe spend longer drawing what you did and maybe edit some of the sprites when necessary.

Hoping this series goes uphill.

drawings and some great storytelling

The drawings are great. I really like your faces and the slightly sketchy lines complement the realistic look well.

I personally considered the animation itself to be a bit lousy, with only simple tweens and no real attempt to capture the motion properly.

The sweat was fairly nice though.

The whole story seemed well told, with the music and various scenes helping evoke the suitable response from us. I know nothing of US 'football', but even I shared a little of the character's joy.

A cheer from the crowd would have been a great ending.

Simple cut-out animation and a subject matter I have little interest in. But the drawings and some great storytelling skills meant I actually enjoyed this!

I really like some of the music/visual synching - specially the bit where the dolphin's playing in the water and you fade in/out 3 pics. In face, everything from that point forward was kinda lovely.

One criticism - I found that had you not explained it in your author's comments, I wouldn't have understood the story at all. Also, you make the picture of the frozen dolphin look almost joyful and beautiful, whereas it should surely be a bit more melancholy - perhaps end with the dolphin in a more submissive, sad sorta pose. We anthropomorphise everything, so simply having the head held down, maybe the body a bit more curled would have made us more likely to think 'poor dolphin'.

As mentioned, I really liked some of the scenes you picked, such as the boy/reflection watching the dolphins.

However, the drawings themselves were almost sloppy-looking in some ways. Mainly because of the shapes of the boy/dolphins, which were at times almost atrocious. You kinda need to study the form a bit more if you wanna improve.

Though short, it is a sweet piece that sticks in the mind. Specially after hearing the story, it's a piece I'm unlikely to forget.

Har, i'm glad you liked it. In anycase, just to defend myself, if you think my characters are sloppy, then don't watch my other cartoons. It's my style. If I really wanted, I could make them all anime, or just to piss you off, chibi, but that would be really lame. And the dolphin frozen bit, well, that's all good advice. I'd take the time to go back and change the drawing up a bit, but i'm really too busy working on my next cartoon.

Thanks for the super review!

I liked the style of the graphics - nice lines and shapes. Fonts were cool too.

My one criticism is the key, which looks like it's pointing behind him - it doesn't look like it's at an angle with the end where it's meant to be.

The 'b' made me smile, as did the actualisation of the product.

However, it just wasn't enough to get me laughing. At the end, I had the 'eh, is that it?' feeling. 2 problems - sudden end and not as funny as it could be. Maybe even ending with some big flashy letters on star shapes when you're talking about the pricing and tel. # would help with the former. Maybe taking it to more ridiculous heights, maybe showing it being used publicly, would help with the latter.

Come kick-ass animation here.

I really like the no-lines style you use for most of the background and some of the scenes, like the initial descent of the submarine, the shining water as the ship's in the dock and the whole 'waking up' scene are fantastic.

Was impressed at the way you use tweens to so effectively simulate 3D movement in that mountain road.

I felt some of the characters' lines were a bit too rough - specially the 2 ship workers, who looked really sloppy compared to most of the rest.

The pointy-haired villain was great though.

There are a few parts where a few more frames should perhaps have been drawn - most notably in some of the walking animations and the car-turning.

However, if the writing of the (presumably forthcoming) series is as great as the artwork, I know I'll be in for a treat.

It's a well rounded trailer, but with the absence of a fuller story, the small graphical glitches are more noticable. As a pure art showcase, it's 'merely' above average. When the story is added, then it'll truly rock the house.

Dude I agree totally agree with those critiques and hopefully they will all be addressed in the upcoming game, which by the way is coming along nicely. A demo should be ready relatively soon... I hope :P
