Randomness at its greatest

Some of the animations seem rather sloppy, with figures running around like cardboard cut-outs, staying the same size as they move closer or futher away from the camera.

But that's not the point.

The point is the sheer amount of stuff that's packed in here. Barely a second goes by without another surprise or joke, and whilst I understand why others might find the voices a bit annoying, I thought they added to the humour.

My only complaint is that this was all expected.

With the original, it seemed a surprise to see violence placed against such a backdrop and the randomness was still unique enough to seem almost genius. Now, it seems that slight bit less unique and revelationary.

The songs were great and the loop throughout remains entertaining, with an awesome ending piece.

Maybe you could now start developing some humourous plots that are amusing in their own right, maybe be a Flash kinda South Park if you know what I mean.

But yeah, it was good. Very good.

Didn't know what poninjas were before...

...and really, I still don't. I mean, they seem to be little black stumpy ninjas with a cylinder for a body, circles for hands and no arms, legs or feet. But are they a comic? Some cartoon someone made?

Maybe a link to original Poninja material would have been in order. (At least give me a link for my curiousity.)

The movie itself was great.

Music was well chosen and placed, action was nicely choreographed, with a good bit of variation and fast paced action that never got boring, unlike most of this ilk.

The short 3D sequence you placed in there added to the professional look and those funky player buttons always look good.

Nice stuff.

Only thing I could suggest - more jokes and humour.

Brilliant.

The idea is a great one and one that holds much potential. It's the fact that you realise so much of this potential though that makes this such a fabulous animation.

The graphics are nearly flawless - the shadow of the pencil and the way it moved as the end was 'raised' was excellent and the drawings were a good compromise between looking sketchy and being pleasing to the eye. They were simplistic and fitted the theme perfectly, looking like something that might be in a slightly alternative shildren't TV cartoon.

The music was also nigh-on perfect. Playful and entertaining while the animation lasted.

The ideas that you throw at us and the different scenarios you present your stickman with are what really makes this shine. Not dwelling too long on any single bit, you simply play with your character and the audience simultaneously, inviting them to come and have a laugh with you.

Brilliant.

Truly awesome.

The character designs are great - I specially love the design of the anthropomorphic flies.

The story, whilst simple, is rich from start to finish and packed with detail. So many things are left for our mind to mull over... it's almost like a visit to another world entirely.

The animation is a bit patchy - some of the work, like the fly animation towards the end and the girl's animation throughout, is flawless, whilst other sections, such as the perspective shift or some of the tweened heads, look positively poor in comparison. I specially disliked the perspective shift, in which the different layers didn't quite seem to move in the right manner - in fact this for me was the worst part of the movie.

I loved the way you used less saturated colours for your bgs. Might looke even better though if you dispensed with outlines altogether?

Sound seems great to me and the story, as already mentioned, was brilliant.

Truly awesome.

Nice fbf animation.

The animation was pretty tight, but it's not really enough to be entertaining in its own right.

More of a learning project methinks, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Stay funky,
Bez

Hard to understand...

Again, the voices are just too hard to understand.

You really should have put in subtitles.

Hmmm...

I suppose you wanted to make something so bad it's funny?

Thing is, when the voices are so hard to understand that it takes 2 listens for me to have an idea of what they're saying, it just isn't immediate enough to even stand a chance of being amusing.

And the last frame should have at least stopped so we could read the message.

I fairly enjoyed that.

I quite liked the fact that this was a (very) short movie in its own right, rather than just a series of clips.

Definitely looking forward to the 2nd episode.

Noticed you changed your style. Not sure which I prefer, but I suppose finding out what you like yourself is all good.

Lip synching was fairly good.

Voice-acting pretty good, but some annoying noise (probably at the recording level).

This could really be a sorta fun 'American Pie'-type thing. I don't find that amazingly funny either, but just like your series, it's an enjoyable nostalgia trip.

E-mail me when this comes out if possible.
