Nice work

I liked the artwork, animation and the colours you've chosen. That and the music seems to be of a coherent style.

It was rather basic but it was still pleasant to look at.

The story itself, whilst short, was rather sweet and poignant.

All in all, an enjoyable watch and far better than I was expecting.

Good stuff,
Bez

Shows promise.

Why did you upload this over Poong? I wanted to see your version of pong...

In any case, the movie was rather nice. I really liked the music and the graphics were nice too - it all reminded me of some of the stuff at orisinal.com.

I liked the shape-tweening (am I correct?) on the waves, and the colours gradients you used on the sun and cloud were really well picked. I also liked the whole simple look of the 2 characters.

However, it just ends too quickly. I suggest you maybe have a cycle that goes from sunrise to sunset, then has the moon rise and fall, then loops back.

That would be a much nicer thing, specially if you added some more stuff in the background, like more clouds, stars at night and a gradient for various colours during sunrise and sunset.

As it is, whilst what's there does look really nice, it just seems rather sparse.

nice enough

Simon's profile doesn't seem to work - when I click on it, I go to rory's...

The buttons to pause and restart the movie, as well as going forward or back a frame are impressive.

The graphics are nice, but not amazing.

The voices were excellent and made this an enjoyable watch. The story was entertaining but didn't actually make me laugh at any point.

It was a mildly enjoyable watch though and had some imressive bits. I wish you best of luck with all your future projects. :)

Stay funky,

Not that great at all.

The original was great mainly because it put the cursor within a logical environment. It was mainly the style that made it so appealing although the story worked in the context - nothing much happened, but it was amusing to watch and as I said, the bit with the pointer poking at the stomach was almost painful to watch (in a good way).

However, you just seem to be milking the idea - the story didn't make too much sense and whilst - yeah, the grab function at the end is a 'power' of the cursor, it could have been any supposedly strong character.

Ultimately, the previous episode had a decent style, made sense and a somewhat amusing story. This has none of those things.

If you make another cursor short, please keep it on the computer screen. There's still loads of unexplored possibilities. You could have the cursor paint some stuff in flash and draw things to defend itself for example. And that's after about 2 seconds of thought.

I'm sure you could come up with better ideas.

Nice little trailer.

I liked what was shown in the trailer, and would like to see this turned into a full movie. You never replied to any of the other reviews saying what your decision was or when a full version may come out. Care to enlighten us?

The graphics were really nice and I liked the whole pace of the thing. The way the movie ended, with the screen turning white and the gun-shot of-screen was excellent, and the lack of violence on-screen made it slightly chilling.

I wasn't too keen on all the fonts you used though - I would have maybe preferred it had you kept to a more coherent style within the text. I also didn't really like your 'coming soon'.

Although I don't want to sound too negative, I didn't much care for the background story you wrote in your comments - it just sounds too unoriginal and slightly derivative of Spawn. Stopping criminals to piss Satan off? Banished to earth for 'some reason'?

If anything, surely the criminal killing himself would please Satan, as he'd have more victims to torture in hell?

Maybe you could change the plot to that - Satan's trying to grow an army so his helper needs to kill the meanest muthas so they can go to hell?

In any case, I'd still like to see the full thing and would be interested to know when, if ever, it's likely to come out.

Darkn3ss responds:

Sorry, i lack the energy to make this now. The idea was too weak for anything decent to come of it without ripping off spawn or anything.

Obviously not true.

Yep, I'm such a dick I docked points for your incorrect answer to your own question.

But the gun was drawn really nicely, and I liked the whole perspective of the guy firing the gun.

It does also seem as if the intro is too long for the movie. After the intro, I was expecting something like a minute of bloody carnage.

Hmmm....

Well, I suppose a stick skating thing is a decent way to learn Flash.

I assume that's what it was - a learning exercise?

To stand out in an already over-subscribed genre, you'd really need to make it something exceptional, which this clearly isn't.

I do like the music though and the skateboard looks good, as does most of the stick-man animation. (The exception being the parts on the half-pipe where you squash him to simulate rotation. It just looks a bit poor when he squashes and dissappears for a second - maybe you should have kept the head and body the same for a nicer effect?

I also like the fact that you've put in a fair few tricks into a fairly short space of time.

However, it just isn't anything special and that makes it a rather poor watch when there's so many alternatives.
