[Roommates]

Good show.

In his recent Flash animation, Chris Miller tells a short tale about 2 room-mates. In a typical state of affairs, one seems to be unable to cope with simple everyday situations whilst the other seems to be an able observer.

The idrection is superb, and the music is implemented wonderfully, truly adding to the character of the piece.

On the subject of sound, there is no speech whatsoever. All emotions are skillfully conveyed through body language, silly noises and facial expressions.

Even the introduction is full of charm and I would recommend this animation as worthy of your time.

My only criticism would be the lack of a start/replay button. It does somewhat detract from the othe polished areas.

Having said that, what you've done so far - whilst funky isn't perfect.

Basically, the bit near the start where the car's driving along the road with the green bits to either side feels unfinished as it pauses for a wee bit on a frame, as if there are frames missing or something.

I can guarantee you that this isn't due to the speed of my PC.


Apart from that, it's a good song choice, and you seem o be doing a decent job of building an animation around it.

I'd suggest you continue, but you need to remember that ultimately, you're the one spending the time on this, and you shouldn't make something JUST for NG - make something that you'll be proud of and which you'll want to show to everyone.

If you think you enjoy working on the project and will be proud of it, continue.

If you hate working on it, don't bother.

As simple as that.

It does what it tries to do well.

Or at least, I think it does. It's hard to tell when you don't amazingly like these crazy Japanese song-videos.

I'll say this. You definitely seem to have a recognisable style. After watching it, I thought to myself 'that'll be the guy that made "Good Times" then', and indeed it was.

The graphics suffice, the song is what you'd expect from this sort of thing, but I just don't find it funny.

Evidently, some other people do.

Decent. But goes on too long.

I liked the presentation of the caroon and I liked a couple of the clocks, but I really thought it went on for too long.

Also, see how the bit at the start suddenly jumps from 'different' to 'various'... is that intentional?

It doesn't bother me. I was just wondering.

It's mildly amusing, and the graphics/sound/animation all fit the joke perfectly.

But I just didn't find the joke funny.

I didn't like the story or humour tho'

The joke just didn't really make any sense, and I felt that it was just a bit...

yea h. I know I've written this about a lot of stuff. I know that the whole of NG is - essentially - pointless, as is all entertainment.

But ultimately, this just didn't entertain me.

So it's not great entertainment.

Like I say tho', nice graphics, music and animation. Professional-looking.

Yeah. Although this was great graphically and everything, I just didn't find it funny.

And as many know, I rate stuff subjectively.

I liked your graphics, plot and sound. The lip-synching was done well. And I like your character and would like to see more of him.

Made me chuckle!

The style of animation is both pleasing to my eyes and is also not really something that's over-used just now on NG.

The colours are great - all those shades of purple!

THe sound is well done and suits the individual scenes well.

The humour is well done.

One point makes me chuckle every time I see it!

But one thing does really annoy me - the lack od a start/restart button.

Yeah. That was quite an original concept, and I rather liked the ending.

I also liked the music, and the graphcis weren't bad either. ;)

However, it wasn't realloy enough to make me chuckle.
