That was actually rather funny!

It made me almost laugh! I liked the whole twisted concept, and although some of the voices are balanced a bit badly in terms of volume, it's not bad enough to really get in the way of the movie.

Keep up the good work!

I'm going to watch the rest of the series sometime...

Hmmm... Yeah!

Yeah, this is pretty funky!!! I like the fact that you've got a half-decent plot. Unfortunately for me(a guy who likes a lot of time to be spent on the plot), the whole world seems to be oging the way of Xiao Xiao.

I'd personally like this movie to be more about the plot and less about the combat, but I guess that that would make it into something you aren't striving for.

Ah well.

Technically proficient.

I just rated it a 5 because I don't like these types of movies all that much. And I take the scores to be subjective.

Yeah. Really nice animation.

Yeah, it's got really nice animation and the choreography's quite decent, but it just didn't grab me.

Maybe because I basically don't know these characters and don't really understand what's going on.

Yeah.

That'll be it.

But like I say, the technical stuff's all good.

FlyingElbow responds:

That's kinda what I was going for, I wanted what was going on to be enigmatic, kind of like trying to figure out what's going on in some music videos, letting the viewer fill in the background.
Also, I pretty much thought that Newgrounds was the home of the ill-motivated fight scene. :)

The lack of colour really gets in the way.

Yeah, some bits are mildly amusing, but at the end of the day, your slopiness really gets in the way of my enjoyment.

Oh, and sound would also add to the Flash quite a bit.

Like I say tho, mildly amusing.

I really connected with Fat Cat. :)

For some strange reason, this made me laugh. Kind of. Not real laughing, but a kind of faint chuckle. And that's put it in quite an elite group, believe you me!

Some sound would be nice tho', even if only 'meow, meow'.

hehe...

you get a 5 for making me smile.

It might just be the fact that it's late, but...

yeah.

Can't really say any more than that without spoiling the movie for other people.

pauliojr responds:

I'm glad ya smiled! Thanks for not spoiling it!

I really didn't think much of this.

Sorry, but the pre-loader didn't work, the joke isn't that funny (in fact it's rather tired) and the animation is pretty poor.

On the other hand, as the clocks have taught me, animation certainly isn't everything.

The sound is decent, and it's more than just one lame joke - it's a few. :)

And you have put a fair bit of effort into this.

But I just didn't enjoy watching it.

Sorry.

horsecunt responds:

You are searching for the truth; It knocks on your door and you say, "Hey go away, I'm looking for the truth!" and so it does. Puzzling.

alambadodi alambadodiladidey

And I see that you need a /real/ animating job...

But yeah. This is pretty good stuff. But perhaps no better than Ytown 4, bar the quiz.

I'm not entirely sure if I like the way you've got the normal characters goggling at stuff. Maybe you could take a leaf out of the Japanese' book and for comic situations draw a kawaii version of the characters, against either a blank or psychadelic background?

Has the voice actor for Glory Gal changed? I just noticed that she sounded really 'stilted' when she was talking about taking a photo...

2nd last thing (this isn't a criticism - merely a suggestion) - at some points, the subtitles were hard to read, because the backgrounds were a similar colour to the text. Maybe you could make the ubtitles roll across the screen? Or maybe you could make the characters have speech bubbles or something...

Lastly, to be honest, I didn't find this amazingly funny.

But, then, I didn't find the earlier episodes that funny, but I enjoyed watching them for the plot. And this one certainly didn't disappoint in this respect.

I liked a lot of the bits which I'm not going to spoil for other people.

I also really liked the quiz, and the 'reward' was really good. Whilst coding a scrolling engine, I decided to lidten to it for some strange reason, and I started laughing like a madman in the middle of the class! Certainly cheered me up, after having coding problems...

Yeah. This is a pretty tight series you've got going here, and it's definitely one of the better NG series. But there's still room for improvement.

Oh, and I like the idea about the sub-series. But have a preloader to THAT. Make it so that you can do the character bios and background story bit until the quiz loads, then you do the quiz until the sub-series loads, then you get to watch that until the proper movie loads!!!!

It'd be maqdness!!!

But, it'd be great. And hysterical. (Or, mildly amusing at least.)

McRhyme responds:

Yeah, thanks for reminding me to make a TRIVA again and but it in the preloader. It's pretty sad you don't think things have gotten better since #4. I think this episode has a much cooler story (but AL in #4 is hard to beat). No "movie link" this time. In #4 I was thinking of "2001 a space.." with AL and all.

Yupp, maybe I made a couple of googled eyes this time. I think the opening scene with Fred screaming is fun (not beautiful). I have chosen to go for "add on"-google eyes when they get excited. Looks okay - The best thing about it is that I can animate the eyes really easy, making them look around and increase bust.. sorry eye-size at any time. In #2 I used a phsyco effect when Newton charged Giga. The background was white. Sometimes I use a blue manga style background, but I don't want to over to it and start looking like Pokémon. Glory is still played by my sister, but I think she had had a hard day :)

I could make a small background for subtitles, no sweat!

I have learnt by now that you don't laugh very easily. Nor do I - But I find the series amusing and I SMILE.

I'll try to make the TRIVA and SUBSERIE (it will be comic like-not animated)

Hmmmayuoahia (I really hate the one-liners)

Yeah.

I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a teensy bit dissappointed with the abrupt ending, but yeah.

The series definitely seems to be developing.

Onw thing I'd maybe suggest is that the blurring of the backgrounds is a bit 'sudden' if you know what I mean. There aren't any obejcts which are kind of half-blurred because they're half way into the background.

Apart from that, the music's pretty damn funky, the graphics pretty decent, and the story really seems to be developing.

I also like the combat.

My only real gripe is the cliffhanger.

Also, I accept that you propbably want to divert people to your site, but surely you could do some sort of decent preloader...

How many more episodes until we learn the truth about Arrogancy?

Brilliant.

I don't think that this ever gets boring, unlike a load of other freaky wierd music videos.

This obviously due, in part at least, to the music, which really provokes some images and evidently helped.

However, you do well to come up with some of the ideas which you did, and the fact that you made it all link up somehow, gets the veiwer much more involved.

I really liked the ending, as I did the starting stuff.

However, how about getting some way of letting people read through the introductory jokes at their lesuire? You could make it so that a button will appear when the next joke's done loading and you can click to go forward.

Apart from that minor blemish, good work.
