Poor bunny... he looked so cute too...

some selected aspects
===================

++ Bunny is actually nicely drawn
++ I like the animation as he looks up
++ The animation as he falls over is also nice, with a bit of 'bouncing' off the ground.

++ Text had enough humour to make me smile.

++ Nice beats.

----- Very derivative of these kind of short flashes in terms of what actually happens on-screen.

It's good that you made this. It's probably about as good as my 1st flash. Graphically, better.

I'm assuming you didn't spend long on this at all, so I suggest you try applying your skills to something a bit more ambitious. I reckon it could work out for you.

Stay funky,
- Bez

Frostbreath responds:

Thank you for reviewing.

I might've spend 10 minutes on drawing that bunny, and 3 minutes to make the tween. Which only made the eyes and ears move. I'm only pleased with the falling tween, since it's looking quite natural. Didn't think too much about the text, and the beats wheren't mine. you're too kind, sir ;)

I spent a total of 2 hours on this. i'll probably try on something a bit more classy... when school is getting off my back. I'm sure you understand.

I smiled.

I was gonna go on about the gfx (Link's head doesn't match the body at all. Did you draw him?) and the setup taking too long. That kinda stuff.

When I got to the end though, it was obvious why.

Yeah, it took me by surprise and made me smile.

That's all I'll say.

F00D responds:

yes i drew link, using a picture as a model.

glad you liked it, thanks

A bit predictable and generic.

some selected aspects
===================

++ Music was well-suited.

+ Voices were fairly good.

--- The plot was all fairly run of the mill and kinda predicatable.

- Graphics could be a lot better.

overall
========

Whereas the other episode had a bit of a twist and a host of questions about the whole situation (how did the guy know the toast? What was their relationship? Was his mind controlled somehow by the toast?) this was just a straighforward story of a little monster and there was nothing in the way of a twist.

All rather predictable this time.

Creepy

some selected aspects
===================

+++ Made me jump at the end, even on 2nd viewing.

++ I wasn't expecting the death to arise the way it did.

+++ The cuts, the noises... it all conspired to create the 'on edge' feeling I assume you wanted.

- Animation is quite limited - and not in a good way. E.g. toast walking across floor, arm of man...

- Graphics are unappealing and lack detail. Try and improve in that regard.

overall
========

I actually found that rather creepy. It'll haunt me for a while.

Can't criticise much other than the graphics. The random first comment from the toast did kinda remind me of Saladfingers. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'm off to watch the 2nd.

Needs music.

===================

++ All were fairly true.

++ I liked the ending of the karaoke one.

++ Also, the treatment of 'laughing with you'

+ Spewing within dancing.

---- No music. It practically screams for some loungs-style backings.

-- I don't really care for the starting screen.

- Nor the way it's basically all an ad for your product. But I guess if that's funding this entertainment, I can live with it.

- I think the font for the warning labels could have been better chosen. Maybe something with simpler shapes. Perhaps bold monoweight.

I smiled for most of it.

An amusing, thought-provoking piece.

some selected aspects
===================

+++ Thought-provoking. I was reminded of the Southpark kids in the episode 'Cancelled' where they see the aliens doing something to each other. At first I thought one was tickling the other, but after realising it was a dirty little movie and rewatching it, taking the stems to be heads and the counters to be genetilia, rewatching it meant I could understand the little leap for joy... they're kinda dirty little animals.

+++ Amusing

-- I don't care for the end screen.

----- I hat the auto-starting of movies. Even if they're as small as this one in filesize.

++ Appropriate sound effects.

overall
========
Such an obvious idea, but to see it in action is such an amusing, thought-provoking piece.

Really imaginative.

how I played this

some selected aspects
===================

- When one guy is stealing the other guy's stuff, even though the '100's appear above him, the score doesn't increase. Yeah, I know it's slightly pedantic to notice and then complain, but it's still a fault, albeit a tiny one.

------ The movie auto-starts after loading. Seriously. I hate this being done.

---- The end screen is kinda garish and doesn't match the movie that well, specially in terms of colours. Neither does the pre-loader.

++ I like the black 'tv' lines on the pong players.

++ Also, the little glow.

+++++ The basic concept is an imaginative one and it capture my imagination.

++++ The first time I watched this, the twists were unforseen.

overall
========

A great little flash. Sparks the imagination and has some humour to boot.

The garish end-screen and autostarting do really annoy though.

Made me chuckle for a few seconds.

some selected aspects
===================

------ Starting automatically. You should have a pre-loader with a play button. Don't expect folk to be staring blankly at it until it loads.

--- Some of the interviewer's words were hard to make out. Why wasn't he subtitled?

++ I like the opnening speech, introducing the clock crew.

++: All the dialogue is very fitting and written well to suit the characters.

++ I liked the flashbacks, in terms of the greyscale art and also in the context in which they were used.

overall
========

Made me smile at a few points and chuckle at one. Seems like it could have been developed slightly more though and the hard-to-understand voices do irritate me.

By the way, how did you decide that title?

capn-g responds:

I couldn't afford the extra ten minutes.

Damn straight - it's a massive improvement.

some selected aspects
===================

+++ Yeah, the vector art is great. I really like the way it just all seems so 'confident'. I'm not sure how to explain it better than that... well, you have all these clean pics flashing up and you're unafraid to limit the animation and don't go into more complexity than necessary. You know exactly what's needed and you do the work where it'll reap results.

++ I quite like the photo bgs.

++++ The song's really clean - I can hear each instrument beautifully and the jokes in the lyrics really come across because I don't have to be looking down all the time.

++ Surprise ending!

+ Pork rind transition!

+ funky scrolling text

Erm... again I can't see any flaws and can only suggest possible additions.

- you could have had more freaks.

- Why don't you include the full credits for the song and stuff within the flash?

- Maybe you should have ended with the same credits in the left-hand corner like at the start?

overall
========

Darn straight it's a massive improvement. Looking back, I think the gfx of the first may have distracted me from the jokes in the song. This time, it's all good and left me with a smile on my face.

I enjoy napping and I enjoyed watching this.

some selected aspects
===================

++++ Fast-cut animation to suit the song.

+++ I chuckled for a second near the end, where the guy starts rapping with random graffiti behind him. At that point, the seriousness of the song combined with the silliness of the message overcame me.

++ Don't give me any crack. I smiled.

+++ I empathise with your desire for napping.

+ I like the flashes to a sort of blue, with reversed luminosity, near the end.

- Could have had some more variation/little jokes. Quite often, the hardest part of a review (for me) is pinning down why exactly I didn't enjoy a flash even more than I did. To be honest, I don't think there's anything here I can diss that actually affected my enjoyment. I'll just put forward the possibility that you could have hypothetically mixed in even more quick jokes. Maybe you could have had the potatoes form a sort of tidal wave and have it wash over you as you run away? Maybe a shot of you sleeping in a store? Maybe with the coffee you could have drunk a few litres, then fallen straight asleep?

- Maybe you could have had some more exaggerated expressions? Just a thought.

overall
========

It's awesome. I enjoyed it. It made me smile and then chuckle for a second. Maybe some even more outrageous animations would have made me chuckle more. But you've worked the idea well and it's all good.

mlaskaris responds:

Thanks for the great review - Very detailed and well-written. And thanks for checking out the cartoon!
