I just didn't find it funny.

Another short flash that tries to amuse with its random nature and (theoretically) suprisingly short length.

Maybe I'm becoming jaded. I just didn't find it funny. Maybe a few years ago I'd have been in hysterics.

Humour's very subjective so I find it hard to comment constructively with stuff like this.

Sorry.

Somewhat amusing. Very memorable.

++++ The anthropomorphisation of the chair is fantastic. You make it so expressive and it seems to move so naturally. 'Arm' to hip and ending pose both stood out.

+++ I like the distorted walls of the room, making it all seem slightly unreal to begin with.

+++ I was amused by the concept - particularly the chair and its motives.

++++ The concept is an original one that sticks in the mind.

+ Nice use of different greys to highlight things.

- Some shading or even colour might have been nice.

-- While I'm being picky, the motion as the dude walked to the chair was a bit jerky.

----- The lack of a play/replay button. Having it start automatically is kinda lame.

A wonderfully expressive animation, with a somewhat amusing story. The few shortcuts used in the animation don't detract much from that. (But it might have added.) Makes me smile.

Unoriginal idea, but some diverse obstacles.

When you said your full-length cartoon with hair, faces etc. failed miserable, I wasn't sure if you meant it got blammed or if it just got a bad score. So I watched this submission out of curiousity.

Watched it 2x.

+++: Cool idea. Extreme obstacle course.

---: Though it's nothing original.

----: I really dislike the way the guy sometimes gets teleported in front of where he died. So we never actually see him get past that level thing, nor the gun placement where he dies, nor the massive jump near the end. It seems like cheating. Cheating us out of seeing how he'd get past the level thing.

+++: I really like the way he gets past the rock bit - by balancing on it.

++: I also quite like the water splashing down on him.

++: The obstacles are fairly diverse.

++: The way the 'OWNAGE SCENE' started up, only to be ended a moment later made me smile.

---: NO replay button.

You know, in some other versions of this, there's multiple stickmen (each with one life), which gives us a lot to look at and stuff to catch on repeated views. Maybe something to consider if you were to return to this idea?

Another thing that might be funny is if he had a lifecounter, then at the end, he tripped over a tiny stone or something, getting killed right at the end, just before the exit.

Anyhow, cool idea, been done before, but yours was interesting too.

I't didn't get blammed becauseI never submitted it. People on this site can be so fuckin one dimensional. They assume that my grey charachters with thier detatched hands are rip offs of madness. When technically, madness is a ripoff of rayman. Bit who cares? Also with the inclusion of zombies in the full length one, i'd be getting more shit from the Madness fans. I'm not too excited to hear there bitching again. Anyway level 2 is on the way. Im about 40% done. Hes almost through the level, but I just need to put in sounds, and finish some effects. Expect it sometime next week. Unless I'm lazy.

Just.... no.

No. I'm not gonna review this in a manner like last time.

I'm guessing the moon bg is alluding to the 'On the Moon' series? (Or whatever that's called.)

Intro's cool. I thought it was gonna be a proper story. I thought maybe rofl was gonna threaten to cut Afro's hair or something.

The perversion of my expectations made me chuckle for a second.

The humour here worked with moderate success.

One, zero, one. Exclamation mark, exclamation mark, eleven, eleven, one thousand one hundred and eleven.

Not bad.

----- :( :( :( :( :( I remember you saying on the Afro forums (which I once checked by) that if you guys were to ever do a flash, it wouldn't be something lousy like various groups. Dude. This is encroaching on that territory.

++++ The slow version of Girl got Back, or whatever the 'big butt' song is called, is fantastic. Suits the silly mood well.

+++ Cool intro song too.

++ I like the fonts you use throughout.

++ Roflmuffin's character is nicely drawn.

- Afrostar and the bg less so.

++++ I did kinda smile at the contents of the episode.

+: detail of sfx+monospaced typewriter-style font at end

Ultimately, any criticism I have isn't so much with what is here, but what isn't. It's just trying to be a short little joke and whilst I smiled, it doesn't rock my world. Humour's subjective. That's all you were trying for, it seems.

Well, any humour's derived from the randomness and shortness. It works to some extent as it made me smile.

But it didn't make me laugh.

Wow! These are all very different...

++++: killing tax-men.

++ - the rolling eyes.

-: When you just add eyes and a mouth to a stick man (ending) it looks wierd and not too good.

- the crusher was expected

++ the ending wasn't.

++ I like the machine. (though I think it should have unfolded a tad faster.)

+++ broom handle joke.

This is a crazy animation. No longer is the series simply about the death of stickmen. In this, it becomes a tale of a twisted man, who takes things a bit too far with hating the tax-men.

What kinda psycho is he, anyway, with the pit, the crusher and even a killer rabbit all on standby to get rid of unwanted visitors.

I chuckled thinking about that.

I found watching the actual animation just a wacky experience.

Bonzerelie responds:

Again, another useful comment.

1. A bit too far or not far enough?
2. The reason i added the eyes to the guy was just to show how he was feeling. Though, i do agree with what you say.
3. I didnt realise how much people get annoyed by things taking time. Fair enough, ill learn from this :)
4. You gave me a 6/10! ... oh well.

Quite different.

+: Nice music. Suits it OK (not great).

+++ Interesting idea.

---: Very early on, it's pretty obvious nearly exactly what will happen. Just like the stick-man, it's just a case of waiting for it to happen.

I could psycho-analyse and say that I enjoy the theory that we are able to at least make an attempt to fight against the walls that hold us, unlike here, where dreams are crushed.

The simple fact though is that it's all just a bit one-note.

Bonzerelie responds:

Yep, i agree, not as interesting, plain and simple, and VERY obvious whats going to happen, thanks for yet ANOTHER helpful review :D even though you only gave me a 5 :(

A solid concept.

[Just a quick review as it's old work of yours. You've obviously progressed. The animation and everything are good here, but it's nothing compared to #4. I'm just watching through the series after seeing the last one.]

+++: An interesting basic concept.

-: disappearing weapons - getting thrown into thin air...

---: I don't like the ending at all. It looks as if he's doing that on purpose, which is stupid.

+++: I like the touches of personality you show through the movement, e.g. after hurting his foot.

---: no music

overall
=========

It's easy to compare this to the first half of #4 and pick up on all that's yet to be improved. Music made such a difference. Even more personality came across through the animation. The weapons were gotten from somewhere. Various graphic styles were used to spice it up.

But even without those developments, its an idea which intrigues and holds our interest long after the movie has ended.

Bonzerelie responds:

Nice, i respect that you have taken into account, that i have imrpoved :D

1. The weaprons disappearing, was really just because im lazy ;) also, i thought that it would look messy to have the floor cluttered with stuff.

2. I didnt put in musi simply, because i didnt know hoe then :P

3. I didnt think that the affects of personality were such a big deal, but i have been told by alot of people, that they made it more believable, and i guess they were right.

Thanks for all your reviews on the series, i just finished reading them, and they were all the most helpful ones i have evr recieved :D
