mousegames around

++ Some nifty gfx.

++++ Varied gameplay

--- On level 19, the only way I seemed able to win was to take my mouse out the window, then come back in from the top. Not sure if that was intended or not, but it felt like cheating.

+ I like how you forced us to move through the red circles on a couple of occasions, forcing us to rethink strategies.

Cool game. my final time was '25 mins' but I wasn't playing all that time, so it was probably closer to 10 mins.

Enjoyed it while it lasted. One of the best mousegames around, and I think I've played a substantial number.

coming back to it

This seems to be exactly the same game. And the mouse moves the paddle - not the buttons.

--------- Posting the exact same game twice is a shitty thing to do.
Though I'm mildly impressed you got these past judgement despite that...

+++ The multi-ball system makes it a bit different.

--- I found it confusing that I lost when it was 3-2 to me and I lost one more 'set'. If you actually mean we have 3 lives, just say so.

-- Starts off too hard. I feel that as a rule of thumb, anyone should be able to complete a first level on their first or 2nd go. I think I lost 0-3 on my first play-through.

I like a few things about this game, though won't be coming back to it.

Lol two reviews on both....

on it, it'll be

I didn't bother getting very far (played maybe 8 mins), but voted 2 and just wanted to tell you my thoughts.

---- The slow walking speed really irritates me. In a way, I don't see any point in even having a walking character since you don't seem to be using that in any way - you might as well have folk just click to enter places.

--- It irritates me how so many of the stats seem hidden. Check out the Pico Sim Date game. See how for any task we're gonna do, we get told what benefits it'll give us? That's giving us the info we need to make our choices without feeling like we're stumbling around in the dark.

- It's all pretty dull, graphically speaking.

--- My first impression is that the game mechanics are totally derivative.

+ I like how you try to at least explain these 'job points'.

+ 'get out of my house' - mildly amusing.

+ crappy cracked house also vaguely amusing.

I'm sure if you keep working on it, it'll be great. Just now, it just seems a bit substandard in an overcrowded genre.

Shoot for the stars. Even if you miss, you'll still reach the moon. ;-)

Stay funky! Keep at it, maybe work out some way to further differentiate it from the herd and it could rock.

put a lot

+++ I like your motives.

+++ Generally, protecting flash can be a good thing.

-- The code isn't explained at all.

-- It seems a bit shit, only 'protecting' from one domain. Better to explicitly allow domains than disallow them, it'd seem to me...

===
I still kinda hope this passes, though you could've put a lot more into it...

Scotttheskaterr responds:

Well this flash wansnt really about the graphics or anything. It was about the code. I just want people to use that in their flash.

an awful lot

I played through. Got 2 Qs wrong - 'how many people suspected of murder' and 'how many clips'.

+++ I liked the music.

- I hate the way the music restarts each time we fail. It means that unless we sit back before completing the quiz (as I did after finishing it all) we won't hear the full thing.
I think it should've started when we click anything, then just repeated after that with a pause maybe, and an option to turn it off in case anyone wanted to (not that anyone should).

-- Too few questions.

-- The way you have options to go to next question, menu etc. after each question seems a bit pointless and makes it feel a bit disjointed. In the speed quiz specially, it seems it should be omitted.

--- In the speed quiz, if we run out of time on the last question, it says we won.

--- No gfx.

+ The colour yellow is fitting...

++ Most of the questions are fairly well picked.

===
I got some enjoyment out of it, but it could still be improved an awful lot.

Thanks...

over and over

++ A few different movement patterns

- Not enough interesting variations on strategy needed.

-- Levels feel a bit long.

-- A couple of the levels seem like movement is too random.

-- No personal highscore displayed.

+++ Cool music.

+++ Great sfx.

+ Plenty of stats
- Though they kinda overwhelm us, the way they're presented.

===
Seemed kinda derivative. My main gripe is that for most the game I felt I was repeating the same actions over and over again, with no real thought process required.

brought me little

Played it maybe 2 times a while ago, 3 times today, until I got to level 11.

+++ Simple, easy to understand game rules.

- I found the edges way too 'bouncy'. Maybe if the speed was halved or something, I'd prefer it.

+++ The black, blue and red shapes are fairly easy to 'work out' and do add some variation.

---- But the strategies required of us seem to be the same throughout.

-- I found the circle I had to touch to connect kinda fiddly and really irritating on occasion. I'd personally far prefer it if we could touch any portion of the line. Though I do accept it'd make it a totally different game.

--- At the end, our score/level reached isn't shown.

- When I clicked on 'instructions' in-game once, I expected to be able to carry on that game. I didn't realise the 'continue previous game' was a seperate button until after, so dunno if that was partially my fault. Even if so, maybe make it more obvious that that's a seperate button.

===
Not bad. I did find it a bit dull and thought you could have had more variation in what we needed to do (i.e. the strategies we needed to implement). Mildly interesting but brought me little pleasure in its current form.

of the rules, but the

++ Selectable characters

++ Giving away the 'jester' code is a cool way to get folk to retry

++ Easy to pick up and play

---- Way too limited in terms of game mechanics. The rules could be exploited more to make for more interesting variation. As it is, I got to level 5 on my 2nd go, then basically just gave up as I was tired of it.

- I don't understand the point of the carrots

If speeding up is the only change and the gameplay is as limited as it is, then having levels seems almost like you're making it out to be more than it is.

I'd reccommend either having it speed up faster, or do something else... maybe bananas falling in interesting patterns? Maybe getting bigger too?

I dug the tunes and liked the simplicity of the rules, but the mechanics were too repetitive.

it lasts, I suppose, but

++ Nifty pre-loader game. Unoriginal and over-easy it may be, but it's cool in the role it is.

-- The 'click if movie has loaded' should be a colour that contrasts more with the bg. Black on medium grey isn't a great choice, and its lack of visibility is perhaps why some folk don't realise there is a 'proper' game after this!

Maybe you could even have some big text zoom across the screen when it's loaded, or have the text twinkle or shrink into its position. Something to make us aware that the game's loaded and we should click.

-- The white instructions are also slightly hard to read against the bg. You could have maybe dimmed the bg for that frame.

++ It's all pretty colourful. I specially like the bright blue/red text w. shadows.

---- The main game is also way too easy... and doesn't have enough interesting variation.

It only lasts 3 levels, and it's interesting while it lasts, I suppose, but really needs some extra complication to make it worth more than a microgame.
