Brilliant!
Castle cat 2 was probably my favourite from you up till that point, but has already been usurped in my estimation... by Castle Cat 3!
There are a few flaws, but they're outranked by the flair and imagination you show.
The niggles...
The control is kinda slidy. If you so much as turn around, you end up sliding about 1/2 a cat in that direction. It just feels slightly awkward at times.
Pretty much all the game is really easy, apart from the flying cacti and the end boss. (Took me 2 attempts to work out the boss was a fixed pattern and didn't aim at me...)
When you lose a life, there should be something telling you such - some voice, some sound, some flash... something.
Siegfried and row were mundane to fight as it was just a case of staying in the safe spot and waiting for them to float within range.
In the shops, you shouldn't be able to buy a leopard skin if you have one, nor buy hearts if they are already full.
The good...
The shops are nice as now I feel as if there is a rreal point in getting the items. It was fun to 'level up' and get loads of cannonballs.
The various stages, with different themes, are great. First the run-down desert, then las vegas, some chinese thing, then the boss.
The honeybee sidequest was a great irrelevant thing - slightly trippy, and a nice injection of variety.
I loved the casino machines - more going on on-screen is good, as long as it doesn't hinder your view.
The game was fun to play, and whilst I was quite frustrated having to play most of it 3x, it was fairly enjoyable, even then.
