Bang, bang, end!

I like this style of submission. A beginning, the necessary build-up, a punchline, another punchline, then an end. The static end-screen helps hammer in the impact of the abrupt end.

Everything was drawn rather well and the bgm/voices were awesome.

I wasn't too keen on the green you used for the bg though - seems a bit too saturated imo.

Also, when Zelda punched him, the motion her fist followed looked more like the way a hand would move if she were slapping him. I felt the characters' body-acting there could have been a tad better.

Regardless, I enjoyed both jokes (poking/punching) enjoyed the format and chuckled. Great stuff!

LOL

These movies only work when unexpected and sufficiently absurd. This was both.

The music beginning lured me into thinking the movie was longer than it actually was. The high-pitched childish voice on the beast a strike for absurdity. The drawings and music like an innocent child's impression of the world.

The end made me guffaw as all that was left was a sweet, sweet memory to savour.

I didn't like the bonus much though.

Some great moments.

1 - What happened to the little guy?
2 - predictable
4 - I like the end
6 - This one's brilliant!
7 - very predictable.
8 - I thought it'd fall on them. Kinda glad it didn't.

I like the fact that your characters have a geometric style to differentiate them.

I liked all the bgm and sfx, but got annoyed when I first went to replay - you should ALWAYS have a 'stopAllSound()' command on the play button or first frame to avoid the end-music looping over the movie.

Though you showed some emotion, the characters could have been more expressive using body language.

It's not the most original concept and not all the sections were great.

However, thanks to the quick-fire format, they don't necessarily all NEED to be..

Superawesomeness responds:

In #1 Blue bounced too high and into space.
In #8 I decided not to make it fall on them, they need a sequel.
Sorry about the music thing, I'll remember to have a stopAllSound() action next time.
Glad you liked the movie!

The end was the best bit imo.

The drawings were good, but I wasn't keen on the cut-out-style of animation.

I liked the VH1 logo.

Though it was a struggle to understand what was being said, Quasi's voice had real character.

The ending really made me chuckle - nice absurdity.

I felt the whole start (the studio section) could have been better and the hick's voice shoiuld have maybe been a bit less like Quasi's. More understandable and expressive maybe?

Still, a decent watch.

Lost any impact it may have once had.

I was never around for the original release of B. Maybe the reactionary move would have been amusing to myself - absurd and unexpected.

Now, however, movies of this ilk have become so commonplace that they lack any impact they may have had long ago. The only ones to be surprise will be those who don't know your name and expect something of note based on the score.

For everyone else though, the whole 'movement' of these movies is just slightly boring.

Nothing of real value.

Great music. Funky font.

Little else of note. Generally, the only time 1-framers are funny is when they're absurd and unexpected. This was neither.

:(

Hmm

I liked the end frame - never heard the software-generated voices layered onto each other like that. Sounded quite cool. Absurdity kinda amusing (liked 'giggle giggle') and the washed out and outlined photos were lovely.

Pretty shallow though and the joke was a bit flimsy - no hearty laughs. Just almost-chuckles.

Heil responds:

okay, well the original is better

Enjoyed the vibe.

I really liked the vibe of this. The music was polished and both rhythm and melody were solid. A nice sorta midnight spanish bar vibe.

There wasn't any particularly great animation, but at the same time nothing let it down. You all knew what you were capable of and played it safe.

I found the 'plot' of the movie a bit confusing. Though I'd been told the plot when the collab first started, watching it was an odd experience. It took 3 watches to be able to read up to the 'responses(0) bit' and the last line of the movie, 'spoken' by you was unintelligible to me. It was a surprise, as I'm sure you intended it to be.

It's great to see the more active members coming together to make this. I'd have liked to be part of it and wish I hadn't had PC problems over the past 6 months but oh well.

I actually really liked how the style was fairly constant - apart from the author's names, no stylistic changes really screamed that a different author was taking charge.

I'm not sure if the movie would encourage me to review/request if I didn't already. I mean the movie itself is a little obscure and doesn't even explicitly explain the club. Thankfully you've added the spoken part that clearly says what it's all about and just getting the word out (even if it's only 420 views) is a good job. More clubs should have movies made.

Imacow responds:

Glad you enjoyed it.

The-Review-Cometh did a good job on the audio, it fit better than I thought it would.

Realy? I never thought anyone would take the time to read all that =3

The last line was "Seriously, at the RRC we review that fast". Yeah, most of the people never made parts so there was originally a plot.

Uhhuh, when I was assembling the collab all I could think of was that everyone would have no idea what it was about. Luckily Abs55 had done that intro thing so I used it.

Thanks for the review, Bez.

Chucklesome absurd loop.

Not even a loading screen - this just smacks our head with the absurdity and then does so over and over. I couldn't help but chuckle.

For a while I thought maybe it was part of a bizarre series on the differences between races - using stereotypes to suggest all whites/blacks hum and dance in one manner. I might have been thinking about it too much.

FUNNY CARTTON> FLASHING LIGHTS> ME LIKE.

Nice idea.

I liked the way you spliced together two unrelated memes. The clenched fist breaking the lolly was cool too.

The graphics could have been a bit better (maybe emulating the 2 source materials more closely) and the looping was annoying.

It still made me smile, though not chuckle. Maybe having more rapid loops of 'nine thoooousand' like in the source of the 9k meme or maybe something else quickly thrown into the mix would have helped it reach higher hights of absurd humour.
