me somewhat without making me

Watched it through. Didn't actually make me laugh, though a few points did make me smile.

I think I slightly prefer your toilet monologues. I think maybe because it surprised me more and seemed kinda wackier.

-- In the intro, the lips are way too small compared to the nose.

+++ The jokes are actually fairly well written.

++++ Really unusual format for NG.

++++ The animation for the weak shower almost made me chuckle.

-- I was disappointed by the lists. I mean burning hair? No way worst smell ever. From experience, I actually kinda like the smell...

I'm not great at critiquing jokes...

This entertained me somewhat without making me laugh. However, just like your other monologue, it'll stay in my mind I'm sure.

Very

Watched it through 3 times.

++++ I really like the look.

--- Though on the held frames where we're zooming in/out, it looks a little odd, how it suddenly becomes 'static'. Maybe you could have had a few frames repeating here just to keep the same look?

-- I think we should actually see the girl hand the flower over. That confused me on first watch.

+++ I love the way the foot-tapping is with the music's beat.

++++ Explosion is sumtuous, with the disintegration of the girl.

-- pre-loader could have been more in the style o the movie.

-- Maybe credits for the music.

Very cool graphics. Entertaining.

Thanks man, this review is helpful. I'm making another film much in the same style currently and it's crits like this that make it much easier to learn from past mistakes!

thx agn

I'm guessing this'll be blammed...

As you seemingly wanted opinions on the last 'scene', I'll say:

++++ The drawings on paper are interesting. Also fairly well drawn.

---- The actual animation, specially when the dice stretches slightly, looks terrible.

If you wanna take that to the next level, maybe an idea would be to have some fbf action, maybe having a few of the creations coming to life for a few seconds, then shrink away (fbf) leaving only the dice. And the dice should have proper shading.

Just an idea... though it is a lot of work. Anyway, it's the main movies that matter generally.

I actually get kinda annoyed with all these long intros these days... Armorgames and whatnot...

Anyway, the actual thing was slightly interesting but not very entertaining.

traps in here and it's all

Watched the movie a couple of times. I was kinda surprised by him escaping all the traps and by the end was really rooting for him to get out.

Ignoring the points you mentioned in your comments... (though it's actually definitely different enough to stand alongside the 'trapped' series)

--- The character kinda walks funny at the start. As if he's blind and constipated, with arms feeling in front.... Check out the other 'trapped' movie series to see some nice movement, with character.

++++ Music was great.

++++ Action was well timed to the music.

---- Make the music 'stream'. That'll ensure synchronisation and you could then fade it out at the end and Flash will lose the unnecessary bits.

Having said that, I was sitting listening to it for a while, as I perused the infinitemonkeys website, looking for more of his music. Then I checked the other website... hehe

--- All links should be on one static page at the very end. As it is, if someone doesn't click a link in time, they'd have to replay it to click the link.

Yeah, it's an old concept. But you have some really interesting traps in here and it's all fun to watch.

It is

++++ Made me smile with its silliness. The idea of robopico... the ending...

---- The graphics are inconsistent and somewhat bad. You have the gun from a photo or whatever plonked in and it really doesn't go with anything else. If this'd been a mixed media piece that woulda been cool, but seeing as it's just that one thing... Also, the thin lines on the bullet don't really go with the thick lines of the character, I think.

The wobbly lines didn't look too good in this piece. If it'd been really sketchy throughout, my opinion might be different, but it looks as if you just need to practise your drawing and keep at it.

Lastly, maybe do a level of shading on the close-ups.

+++ Some lip-synching.

---- The song seems to carry on after the movie has finished. No need. Set it to stream, fade it out and Flash will abandon the unused frames, making for a much lower filesize for the same experience.

It is technically crappy. You just need practise. I liked the joke though.

EdwinsGeneration responds:

hahaha i truly appreciate your honest review and im happy that someone with flash knowledge/experience finally reviewed it! Anywho.. All of ur points are valid but heres my reasons for them
Graphics ARE inconsistent ..i made it in about 3 hours or more ..completely rushed solely for the purpose of 'pico day' haha so its ok.. I know wut u mean by shadin close ups i just got lazy fo real plus i mean i didnt think i would spend so much time on a NG holiday flash.. I should have indeed quit the song tho

Thanks :)

I just come away thinking 'what the fuck'...

----- Really, the whole movie was pretty unintelligible. What is a 'Dark Clone'?? What's going on? This movie explains nothing. After the content supplied by other folk, all we get to see are that the world has somehow become, literally, darker.

---- The shape tweens like you have them are interesting to mess about with in Flash, but they're just cheap and not really suitable for a final movie.

++ Asuming you drew the houses and landscape (unlike the start - shame on you for taking that!) you can obviously draw.

I just come away thinking 'what the fuck'... I'm not sure if this is meant as a joke... If it's meant to confuse and bewilder, good job. Incidentally, it's not an emotion I often experientce. If it's meant to actually entertain beyond that initial bewilderment...

NinoGrounds responds:

Thanks for the helpful review.

I actually credited Buzzworld later. You should see it.

Enjoyable watch. Very stylised.

++++ I really like the style of the graphics... ultra stylised vectors. Works well in this animation. Really sharp.

+++ Some nice detail. Like in the b-day cake at the start. I'm guessing you made a special effort on that...

-- You know, it wasn't until the 2nd viewing (when I didn't have to put most my attention on the text) that I realised the girl was an angel. Maybe make her wings whiter with rounder feathers?

+++ Some nice visual design. I liked Pico's knobbly knees and also the 2 goths.

--- After watching it for a 2nd time, I'm still unsure what happened at the end. Or is that the point? If so, seems kinda cheap.

++ Though it did make me chuckle whilst muttering 'what the fuck'

Enjoyable watch. Very stylised. Very impressive for a first.

eyebrows in your

-- The character drawings kinda lacked emotion in their poses. Tweened arms just don't convey the anger imo.

++ interesting bg

--- When we see Kagome from the front, first you show an off-model drawing, then one which looks like it was made to be intentionally bad.

+++ Great voices.

++ Made me smile for the most part, and I kinda chuckled at one point.

I raise one out of two eyebrows in your honour.

+++ Voices were all great.

++ Drawings of characters were good. Specially liked the expression on the sad ghost.

-- Animation was REALLY limited in places.

--- The BGs were kinda bare with not much visual detail.

++ Script amused and made me chuckle a few times.

I chuckled at points, but there were a few times where it dragged. Oh, and the credits looked amazing. Seriously.
