Hard to understand and too slow.

The graphics are really nice, but the animation is far, far too limited.

I felt the whole thing was too text-heavy really and contained a lot of stuff at the start that just seemed to be inane pretentious waffle, bordering on meaningless at times.

Perhaps had I watched previous episodes I may have been somewhat interested in the occurences, but that's besides the point. In any case, I notice that there's no ep. 3, meaning that if I was to try watching from the start, I'd still miss out some parts...

Well anyway, assuming you drew them yourself, the graphics were awesome.

Also, I really liked the whistled version of 'Brazil' going into the creepy audio.

Plot/concept - derivative. Animation - awesome.

The basic concept is very unoriginal and for it to have any merit, it really needs to be done excellently to have any appeal. Fortunately, this is just such a production, with very slick and smooth animation, some lovely rotations, some varied choreography and an amusing clash between the cuteness of the lead bunny and the gruesome acts she commits.

I did love the animation throughout with very nice blood spatter effects, lighting and simple expressions being conveyed. It's almost Hello Kitty in the style of the simple characters. I also really liked the 3D effects (rotations and stuff done convincingly) near the end and the screen shake.

My main beef with this animation, apart from the fact that it's not very original, is it's cheesy ending.

It's definitely worth a watch and I enjoyed it, but I can't help but yearn for something more... maybe something making a statement, telling a story... something with characters I can relate to or at least believe in, as Lone Wolf and Cub does so brilliantly.

Still, you've obviously made your decision to not go down that route and I respect that.

Suggestions for #2 - make it faster, with more moves per unit time, even more enemies attacking at once and maybe the shading on the rocks in the bg could be /slightly/ better. Maybe have some music you can use to time the action to. That would be very nice.

And maybe the white bunny should die at the end? Just a thought... heh.

I really liked the funky hair on the town-folk.¬

It's a really nice flash and I'd definitely like to see #2. Anyway, here's my comments in chronological order (as they occur in the movie) and hopefully some will help.

- Not too fond of the title screen. all those scribbly lines didn't do it for me.

- I notice the opening shots of trees/train tracks - all the bgs untiol we see the fisherman are vector-based. Then after seeing him, it all goes the way of guasian blurred bitmaps. I like both, but there's some inconsistency here...

- I really like your bubbles and water.

- I really like the whole silhouette scene with the creature and fisherman.

- I don't like the side-on shot of the creature walking - his arms remain on the same side of his body when they should swing in the other side as well.

- When you had 2 creatures on screen at once, it confused for a few seconds. Maybe have a fade in/fade out rather than have one walk on-screen to join the other.

- I didn't like the rise on the creature - it sort of looked as if it was falling there.

- I liked the turn of the spaceship.

- I really like your city folk. Really individualistic style, specially with the hair.

- The creature seemed to be advancing too fast for his feet when he walked forward. But then, walking towards/away from the camera is probably one of the hardest things to do, so I'll forgive you. ;-p

- I really liked the colour shift in the bg.

The story seems a bit generic, but the art's pretty appealing, specially the city-folk's style and the silhouette shot.

Also, the lack of speech and odd music promoted the feeling of us too being unable to understand the locals - in keeping with the subject matter I thought.

Good luck with #2

Stay funky,
Bez

Not bad

Yeah, reality TV shows are - for the most part - a mind-destroying waste of time.

Your announcer had a good voice and the final quote from the car-owner made me giggle a little - the way excitement is injected somewhere where it just doesn't exist.

I really hate movies that don't have a play button. Add one!

The graphics weren't too bad. I hated your lights though - never have outlines on a light - and the end-screen's a bit sloppy, but the rest's pretty nice.

It was a good idea and I agree with your statement.

Good luck with your next project,
Bez

Tommark responds:

Very Good advice, Thank you.

I hate movies without a play button!

Starting automatically is annoying as many open up movies before they're ready to watch, simply as they normally take a wee while to load. It really doesn't detract at all and a play button makes anything seem a lot more professional and user friendly, I feel.

Anyway, the short itself was amusing in a melancholy sort of way.

Personally, I'd suggest that any deeper meaning is a happy accident and created in the viewer's mind and that your intention with this flash was simply to provide something amusing and different enough to capture the imagination of viewers.

Why does he have no arms? Why didn't he ask someone else for help? Is this a parable for us to be thankful for what we have? That sometimes what we want isn't always best for us? That signs sometimes lie and that we shouldn't listen to what we are told without thought?

These are probably things that you put little thought into but I find I can't help but wonder.

The animation was nice in a sketchy sort of style and the music was fairly nice, although it should have faded out at the end I feel.

The ending, whilst slightly unexpected, wasn't that amusing for me.

Personally, I'd have preferred more of a look into this world. But then maybe, that's the way it should be. A teaser. A short glimpse making us yearn for more.

Better to leave when the other party still loves you than to outstay your welcome.

Entertaining, but maybe not laugh-out-loud funny.

The whole thing was a fairly entertaining piece of work with the 2 clay characters playing well off each other.

The whole thing was odd enough to have a curiousity value in and of the idea itself and the animation was smooth - as always.

Voice acting seemed fairly good.

Your characters could be a lot more detailed, but I'm not sure if that would even be a real improvement. Your trademark faceless characters are sort of endearing. So there's no real point in you spending the time on more detail for us I suppose.

Not much to complain about. Maybe some could have been cut as you yourself admit.

Also, I'd have maybe liked to see it pushed a little further in terms of insanity.

As it was, whilst I enjoyed it, it didn't actually make me laugh at any point.

Not that amusing, I thought.

Graphics and animation were fairly nice, but despite the idea having some potential, it just didn't amuse me.

Speech was hard to understand for me at the beginning and optional subtitles would have helped.

I'm not sure what this is meant to be: a trip down nostalgia lane; a point about the game or simply a bit of a joke... but it failed to make me laugh or even grin in any case.

The lip-synching was pretty decent though and I really liked his expressive eyes. Kind of reminds me of 'Zipperfish's stuff.

Maybe I'm the wrong audience as the idea doesn't appeal to me in and of itself.

Awesome stuff for 2 hours!

I'm very impressed. I know it's tweened, but still... I need to learn to work as fast...

The start seemed a little slow and I was hoping the build-up would lead to something better.

The 'joke' was a bit weak I thought.

But the robot was really nicely done and the sfx were quality too.

Dissappointing.

I was hoping for a high-speed action scene, but instead got to watch a fairly slow ship-battle and then a strange, silly joke which I didn't find funny.

Graphics were very nice though.

And sound effects were good as was the font and the little messages for the settings.

Didn't really enjoy it though.
