For the record, I'm an inclusionist.

Nice graphics.

Interesting point raised.

Okay lip synching.

The joke with the NDS amused me.

The characters seem interesting, with personalities.

Really a site? That's interesting...

Is it your own site? That seems a bit egotistic to me...

No. Wikipedia isn't the reason why 90% of artists give up their dreams.

I wanted to check the info. I couldn't easily find out if the platypus character did in fact have his own page. I still wonder. If so, that'd be interesting...

Fred's face could be more expressive.

Fred's voice seemed slightly whiny. I don't like him as a character.

Nice flash. I'm an 'inclusionist' personally (learnt that word from the review down below), but don't really think it's a big deal. I mean it's just a site.

Flash entertained, but I'd like links to the Platypus thing if it exists. Also, the link to the Fred the Monkey part of Wikipedia should be labelled as such.

JKR responds:

The Clydex the Platypus entry did indeed exist (not made by me I can tell you that) for quite a good bit of time. They recently deleted it due to being angry about this cartoon and the opinions I was sharing. Ah well, tis apart of life. I don't expect them to feature things that speak poorly of them.
Anyway, thanks for the detailed review. Sorry you don't like Fred much, but glad you got some enjoyment out of it anyway. I'll keep working on the characters and make them better. For the record, I did not mean Wikipedia was the reason 90% of artists give up, but that rejection in the form Wikipedia is USING is what causes them to leave behind their dreams. It happens everyday sadly.

Voice a bit hard to make out.

- HypOthetical, not 'hypathetical'.

I like the shading on on Ratbag, as well as the lip synching and the way he grasps the screenshots.

Some of the speech is a bit hard to understand.

The text on the 'play again' button is too thin, considering the size you show it at.

The message itself doesn't come across too well, specially as you're meshing two seperate messages into one long (slightly unintelligible) rant.

Firstly, you're telling us all to vote. Secondly, you're asking folk to use proper judgement. Personally, I definitely agree with the 2nd point, but not really the 1st.

It's not so much that I disagree with the sentiment. (Though I'd rather folk didn't vote at all than voted when they had closed the window prematurely.) More that I just don't think it makes that much difference in the long run. And the folk who see this will most likely vote anyway. The ratio's always going to be lower for more popular front-paged stuff, as that's what the folk who come in, watch a few/play a few things, then leave without really thinking much about Newgrounds, never mind the contributers or the voting system, will tend to see.

And regarding reviews - yeah, I love reviews. I always say so in my author's comments and try to respond to them all.

But when an author quite probably won't give a toss about the thoughts and constructive criticism I've offered, there's not much point in giving them.

That's my £0.02

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Indeed, i spelt the word wrong... But since i'm from Italy and not from America a mere spelling mistake like that shouldn't set me back too much...

As for the play again button... I'll make the text larger, but really, unless you'd find it hard to ckick does it HAVE to be a flaw?

Voting and revieweing... if i didn't think that it it needed saying... i wouldn't have said it... If i said it slow the "target audience" would've equally not given a shit... and thanks for agreeing on at least ONE of my points that i made in the film...

The author always cares. The author simply gets pissed off about bad criticism ("fuck opff and die"... "you suck"... "eat a penis"... "get a life"... do i have to name more?). Two line insults are what people classify as reviews nowdays... And the funny thing is that "front page submissions" get it too... from insensible morons who can't judge.

Authors do it too every now and then when they rebuttle... But that shouldn't discourage you. I answer to every review in the same manner the reviewers write to me to start with (rational if it's rational and like an asshole if it's written by an asshole) and i make sure that i answer back to every review on my submissions. I return the courtesy and i think it's what everyone should do. I have a life as well... Year 12, TAFE, work, Newgrounds, my family, my girl... like everyone would around here... But since that doesn't stop me from doing what's right it shouldn't stop anyone else...

Anyway, i'll try to fix the flaws by the next submission. Thanks for the feedback!

Not even worthy of the portal.

Seriously, I'm disappointed to see this get such a high score.

I mean, the graphics are barely finished for a start. Giant white plane, 3 or 4 basic buildings, with no textures... you really need more buildings and stuff to make it look like a city.

And the camera was all over the place. Get it under control!

Yeah, sure, it's a productive way to relieve boredom.

But it's just not worthy of being in the daily top 5. Not entertaining. Not much artistic merit. No technical marvels.

RussianDumbass responds:

Boo-hoo, cry me a river.

More of a political statement than a joke.

I agree with your statement. You Americans do make some stupid decisions and have stupid laws and regulations. You stupid Americans.

It may have been stated time and over before, but not living in America, I've missed most of those mentions.

From the start:

'Mugginged'? Hmm, so the thing has 2 names... can't make up your mind eh?

I like the button, with the way it bulges and contracts.

The opening song was mildly amusing.

The lip synching's great.

I like being thanked. I could theorise that the stupidity of the reason for thanking us is a further comment of the stupidity of reparation... but I'd be reading too much into it probably.

Thanks for thanking me.

Not a contendor for the month's top 5 imo, but definitely worthy of the award it got.

Nice, short and to the point. Like 'Passport'.

By the way, 'procrastinatory' is the adjective to describe one who often procrastinates.

Get Firefox.

KupaMan responds:

"Mugginging" and "Mugginged" were in place of "Loading" and "Loaded." I know/knew I wouldn't have a chance at top 5 of February, but at least I had my videos in the list. I have Firefox. Thanks... again.

Lovely

The opening was beautiful and the dandelion seeds are all wonderfully drawn.

The way in which the text disappears works well in mirroring the dandelion seeds and keeping to the mood.

Graphics are very simple, but each stroke, each fade, each motion tween seems well considered.

Though the story was simple and rather slow, there was a nice sense of timing and a fair bit of visual interest throughout. The feathers during the transformation, the sparkes on the tear...

Furthermore, it seems to be open to so much interpretation. Personally, I see it as as metaphor for death.

The title seems a little obscure.

The font used is great and goes well with the general tone of the piece.

Lovely music.

Really, really lovely.

BlackmarketKraig responds:

First of all, I really appricaiate thoughtful, considerate reviews such as this.

Now, Mr. Bezman, I just have to say that getting the title text to blow away like that and for me to feel satisfied with the way it looked, took me longer than any other other part of the animation.

Although you seem comfortable with the way the piece unfolded, pacing is the single most commonly pointed out shortcoming of all of my flash submissions to Newgrounds so far. I'm not very good at changing my habits, so it's unlikely that I will be submitting any whiz-bang storytelling in the near future.

It's my opinion that all things are open to individual interpretation, as everyone views the world in a different way, and though many things beat you over the head with whatever the creator wishes you the hear/see/think/feel, I'm more interested gentle nudging. ^_^

I'm done rambling...

Thanks for reviewing and for the great score! :D

A decent trailer

The music is lovely and you seem to have gained recognition for your style of hair.

There's not generally an awful lot of substance to trailers, simply because of their nature. Because of their nature, they're not really made to be enjoyed in their own right and as such I frequently find myself questioning their point on the portal at all.

However. your font was nice, the action seemed fairly well timed to the music and there were a few nice scenes.

The final movie will be a rather enjoyable watch from the look of things.

Xionico responds:

then why a 4 ;-;??? lol, XD well thanks, i prefer a long review than a 10 and no review, so..thanks =D
